Summer Library Program 2024
June 1 - August 31

The library offers free special events over the summer, like performers, book clubs and crafts. To see our events and register, check out our library calendar.

Kids' Reading Program (Ages 0 - 11)

All kids ages 0 - 11 will fill out the same paper log in 2024. Sign up at the library starting June 1 and pick up your log. Last day to sign up is August 1.

Can't make it to the library? Register online and print from home. You will fill out a short online registration form. Beanstack will not be used for a reading or activity challenge for ages 0 - 11 this summer.

Build a regular reading habit! Instead of counting minutes or books this year, count how many days you read. The amount of time you spend reading each day is up to you, but we suggest aiming for 20 minutes a day.
Reading can be time spent reading on your own, listening to a book, or being read to.
All reading and all formats count! Color in every day that you spend time reading.

Once you have read for a total of 25 days (they do not have to be in a row), return to the Verona Public Library for coupons and a free book!
After you have read for a total of 50 days, return again for more coupons and another free book!

Prizes may be picked up any time the library is open starting June 25.

25 days = Free book plus coupons
Coupons and free books will be available starting June 25.
Reach this milestone by July 18 - 21 to earn a Dane County Fair Pass and July 30 to earn a Madison Mallards ticket.

50 days = Finished! Free book plus coupons

Teens ages 12 - 18 will keep track of the time they read during the summer on Beanstack. Visit veronapubliclibrary.beanstack.org and/or get the Beanstack Tracker app to create an account and register starting June 1. If you've already registered on Beanstack for past library challenges, that login information will still work. Find detailed instructions on how to register and log your activities.

4 hours = Grand prize entry tickets on Beanstack

8 hours = Free book, plus coupons and tickets

12 hours = Grand prize entry tickets on Beanstack

Plus there are fun activities to do - each one earns a ticket for a chance to win grand prizes! Teen grand prize drawings include: Spotify Premium, a projector, disc golf and LEGO sets, professional markers, a snack basket, and gift cards to local places like Culver's, Kwik Trip, and Kismet Books!

There are also free indoor and outdoor events over the summer, like movies, crafts, games, and other social opportunities. To see all of our events, check out our library calendar.
