Story times focus on creative expression, social and listening skills, foundations for reading and math, gross and fine motor practice, and more. No registration.
Late Fall Story Time
November 4 - December 13
Baby Story Time: Fridays at 10:30 am and 1:00 pm
Ages 0-12 months. Intended for pre-walkers, baby story time is a lap-sit story time full of books, songs, bounces and more for babies and their caregivers. 20-25 minutes with time for play and socialization afterwards.
Toddler Story Time: Mondays and Wednesdays at 9:30 am
Ages 1 and 2. Encourage early literacy skills at Toddler Story Time through stories, rhymes, and songs for active little ones and their caregivers. 20 - 25 minutes.
Preschool Story Time: Mondays and Wednesdays at 10:30 am
Ages 3-5. This story time includes books, songs, and rhymes for preschoolers and their caregivers who model sitting and listening. We focus on school readiness by improving attention, vocabulary, and imagination! 25 - 30 minutes.
Sensory Story Time: Thursdays at 9:30 am
Ages 3-5. Sensory story time builds communication and friendship skills in a supportive environment. Story time features a visual schedule, yoga, and more.
Everybody Story Time: Thursdays at 10:30 am
Ages 0-5. Featuring books, songs, and rhymes, Everybody Story Time is designed for the whole family. 25-30 minutes.

Childcare providers
If you are a caregiver at a preschool or childcare center and would like to attend indoor story time, please contact the library at mgehrke [at] veronapubliclibrary.org (mgehrke[at]veronapubliclibrary[dot]org) about alternative story time opportunities for your group. A few events that work well for childcare centers to drop-in include outdoor story time, crafternoon, and performances in the main area of the library.
The Verona Public Library children's area offers a collection of fiction, nonfiction, kits, graphic novels, early readers, Spanish, Chinese, and other world languages titles for ages 0-12. The children's area also offers comfortable seating, play spaces, castle, tween corner, early literacy computer stations, and more. We encourage families to stay & play when they come to pick out books. We offer many special events for children and families; please see our calendar for upcoming events.
To request sign language interpretation or other accommodation for special needs, please contact the youth services desk at 608-845-7180 x4 at least two weeks before the event.
